Boy, I tell ya what...  colds suck. I'm sitting here today, cut off from the world, pouting and sniffling because my kids brought home another cold that my family passed around like a tub of popcorn. I think this is cold number two or three for me this year, and hopefully the last.

Anyway, we've had some cool new bands join the Indiedrive family over the past week or so... definitely check them out!  Black Days Down, out of Minneapolis and Bek Phillips out of New England. Both have some excellent music!

Happy cinco de mayo! Well, now that I've agreed to do this blog thing, I guess I better keep posting.

Some cool updates in Indiedrive Land...  we put some bands on the may cover of Nite Times magazine, which turned out to be pretty cool. There is also a blurb inside about Indiedrive. We also have a full page spread in Shattered Glam. These are both local minneapolis based publications.

:)

Ok, so I swore to myself long ago that I would never do the blogging thing - mostly because of the stupid name for it - but also because I didn't have anything to say. Well, a lot has changed and now I have a lot to say... too much to say really. The idea of an official Indiedrive blog was pitched to me by a friend and I laughed it off...  but yet here I am blogging like a blogging blogger. Blog it anyhow.

Already Indiedrive has been around for over 4 months, and I have seen this little idea grow into a massive network and fully functional business. I never realized how hard it would be to create a market from scratch. The coolest thing that has taken place is the effort put forth by bands, artists, and industry people - all working for the same things. It has amazed me how united the indie market really is.

Since our visit to Nashville for the CIA Summit, there has been a flurry of activity in the Indiedrive camp. The word is finally out, and people are buzzing about the potential of flash-drive albums. With the new albums we are releasing in the coming months, I hope the floodgates swing open. I can't wait to kiss the dying CD goodbye so we can finally enter fully into the digital age. While we're at it, let's get rid of all the lame fast food commercials (specifically the golden arches)... and those stupid Toyota truck commercials where everyone's voice is 3 octaves lower than humanly possible...

Blah. Garbage.

Oh ya, if you haven't seen the ANT sponsorship, check it out. I think it's hilarious.  :)
