Indiedrive™ Sponsors Ants at Como Zoo
During a Como Zoo (St. Paul) fundraiser, people were asked to step up and sponsor different animals at the zoo. Most people were more than happy to sponsor the main attractions like the tiger, apes, giraffes, etc... but not Indiedrive™ president Steve Thaemert, who quickly jumped on the phone and sponsored an ant on behalf of Indiedrive, Inc.
"It was a no brainer," said Thaemert, "The ant would never be sponsored. Who cares about ants? I wanted to make a statement about the little guy, the overlooked... who I will remind you is the hardest working animal at the zoo."
Thaemert adds "I was surprised that someone actually went out and took a picture of our ants... I figured the Zoo folks would just set us up with a different animal. But, they didn't. Kudos to the Como Zoo for having a sense of humor and helping me make a statement."
The Zoo did change the sponsorship from one ant to the entire leaf-cutter population. The Indiedrive™ sponsored ants can be located near the visitor center.
